The toilet you’re standing in is a simple thing.
A bowl that fits inside a bowl.
The bowl itself.
The seat that sits on top of it.
That’s all it is.
A single toilet.
And for some, it is that simple.
But in recent months, it has become an expensive proposition for those looking to replace outdated and sometimes dirty, outdated, outdated and dirty toilet seats.
A new generation of toilet seats is being manufactured and the cost of each seat is going up.
In fact, the average price of a new toilet seat in Australia has increased by more than $30 in just the last two years.
And the increase is far more than the inflation rate, meaning a lot of people are struggling to find a decent replacement.
A new generation is not necessarily a bad thing, says Professor Andrew Stocks from the University of Sydney’s Centre for Engineering, Design and Technology.
But the growing demand for replacement toilets, and the high prices, is creating a lot more problems than it’s solving, he says.
“It’s creating a very difficult market, a very competitive market,” he says, adding that the increased demand for toilet seats in the past few years is a huge problem.
“There’s a lot going on here,” he explains.
“The market is very competitive, it’s really hard to get into the market.”
