Aussie backpacker Joe, who has been living in Ireland since his childhood, was among those who found themselves living in a world of change when he arrived.
“It’s hard to say,” Joe said.
“The Irish are a very different country.
They are very traditional and they are very proud.
“We’ve been here for so long and it’s been a good experience. “
It was a great time for us.””

It’s been quite an adjustment.
You see the people.
It seems like you have to grow up quickly.
“You get used to it.
It can be a bit of a shock sometimes.

“The weather here has been pretty nice.”
For a while now, Joe has been travelling the country, staying at different accommodation, eating out, and taking in the sights.
“People have been really supportive,” he said.
“They have been amazing to me and I’ve had great experiences with them.
I’ve never had any problems with them, but the locals have been quite welcoming.”
I’m used to the Irish way of life, but I’m used the American way of living.
“There are some very different things here.
I think you can learn a lot from them.”

“In Ireland, there are so many opportunities.
If you’ve got something special, you’re welcome here.”
But it’s different.
The weather has been good and the beaches are beautiful.””
There’s always a lot going on.
The weather has been good and the beaches are beautiful.”
With the weather, I don’t feel as isolated as I used to, but it takes a lot to stay away from your mates.
“This is a really nice place to be in.
