Tri County Equipment will install hockey protective equipment on the North County Ice Surface at the North Valley.
The equipment will be installed during the summer months during the winter months.
Tri County officials say they hope to have the equipment installed by the end of July.
The equipment will consist of two pieces.
One piece will be a protective surface that will be attached to the bottom of the ice surface to make it easier for children to play on.
The second piece will allow a child to sit on the ice and play with a ball.
The ice surface will be heated by a generator and the equipment will then be covered with a thick layer of foam to prevent any contact between the ice or the children.
The district has been working with Tri County to install the equipment on their ice surface since May.
Tri City also has a hockey equipment park, but they do not have an ice surface like the North Lakeland Ice Center does.
